IM Group completed a new purpose-built Head Office set in 200 acres of parkland for their 170 staff and wanted the specially commissioned artwork to reflect their core values of transparency, agility and inventiveness.
Artzu identified the key locations for the artwork and together with their MD, Andrew Edmiston, the artists were selected and provided with a brief to work from.
Kate Boyce’s paintings contrasted elements of the tree-studded parkland using a strong colour palette and a sense of balance between areas of space and fine detail. She incorporated photographic elements with views from IM House looking out onto the landscaped gardens.
Matt Wilde’s paintings incorporated printed material such as newspapers relating to the IM Group. Within the paintings there are messages & text with reference to the Suffragette Movement in New York and the abolition of slavery set in a contemporary Birmingham city centre.
